The popular 1911 Full-Size body, the pens in the Rei Urushi-Nuri series is Iwale Kinoshiru-Nuri!

The Kinoshiru gradation technique on this pens is a speciality of the artistNatsumi Saibou, whois a skilled craftsman in the traditional craft center of Kinoshiru. Each pen is individually hand-finished by the artist, and no two pens will ever be exactly alike.

The pens in the Rei Urushi-nuri series utilize Sailor’s convenient cartridge-converter system – the provided converter allows for the use of any bottled fountain pen ink, and the pens can also fill using easy-to-use Sailor brand disposable ink cartridges. Each pen ships in a special Paulownia softwood presentation box and also includes a fabric pen pouch along with a cleaning cloth, instruction manual.

Sailor has made a new design for their nibs. The pens which are produced from January 2022 onwards will have the new-design nib. The difference between the old nib and the new nib:

1. New nib does not have ‘1911’ engraved on it
2. New design of the anchor
3. New design of the “SAILOR” engraving below the anchor
4. The ‘H’ letter (abbreviation of ‘Hard’) is removed from the nib size indicator on the left side of the new nib

Depending on the availability of our stock, you may receive the old Sailor nib design or the new Sailor nib.
