Our Raphal Essential Watercolor Brushes bundle contains five short-handled brushes, covering the full range of sizes and shapes needed for painting on watercolor pads up to 12″ x 16″. We’ve included three Raphal Precision brushes, with synthetic sable tips that are perfect for lines, curves, and details. Also included are two Raphal Softaqua brushes, with lush imitation squirrel tips, for washes and soft gradients.

Particularly notable is the Softaqua Quill #2, a large and soft brush with a classic wire binding that allows much greater absorbency and color release. For many watercolorists, a quill brush is the tool of choice for all kinds of different tasks, because it can make very fine marks with its tip or very wide marks when pressed down against the paper.

Both Precision and Softaqua brushes are made with synthetic fibers only, so this bundle is also suitable for vegans.
