Platinum 3776 Celluloid is a model extension in the lines of 3776 Century. The silhouette remains identical as its predecessor albeit the change in the material used in making the Pen i.e Celluloid. It is rare material in modern fountain pens, due to the difficulty of making this material. It is flammable, half transparent plastic material which is made by mixing nitric-cellulose , camphor and alcohol. Celluloid softens at 90 degrees Celsius and hardens when cooled. After the celluloid is made and allowed to cure over many months, the entire body and cap of this pen take shape with the hands of Japanese craftsmen. Platinum Celluloid has a classic design style which is further accentuated by use of matching gold trims or chrome trims.
